Since the launch of the “Thousand Vessels Plan,” CSSC Ship Electric Technology Co.,Ltd. has kept pace with industry trends, advancing both in China and internationally. To date, 60% of the plan has been achieved, with a particularly steady stream of orders in the new energy passenger vessel sector. In April 2025, CSSC SWS secured 13 new energy vessel projects, further expanding its footprint in green waterway tourism. Let’s take a look at where these newly signed vessels will be sailing—across some of China’s most iconic tourist routes and attractions!

Jiangnan Canal, Wuxi, Jiangsu — 15m & 18m Pure Electric Passenger Vessels (4 units)Following a previous collaboration involving 12 electric boats, CSSC SWS is once again providing power system solutions for 4 pure electric tourist vessels operated by Jiangnan Canal Tourism Co., Ltd.
Two 18-meter vessels built by Jiaxing Weijia Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., each equipped with 322.56 kWh batteries.
Two 15-meter, neo-Chinese-style vessels built by Wuxi Dongfang High-Speed Boat Development Co., Ltd., each with 258 kWh battery capacity.All vessels are equipped with CSSC Ship Electric Technology Co.,Ltd.’s proprietary battery and electric control systems, and will serve the historic Wuxi section of the Grand Canal—blending cultural heritage with modern sustainability for an immersive Jiangnan experience.

Yuelu Mountain, Changsha, Hunan — 380-Passenger Catamaran Tourist Vessels (2 units)Funded by Yuelu Mountain Tourism & Culture Development Co., Ltd.,
One vessel will be built by Hunan Xiangchuan Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.
One by Wuxi Dongfang High-Performance Ship & Boat Engineering Co., Ltd.Both vessels will feature two 450kW generator sets, 1,935.36 kWh battery capacity, and the S-Renewable hybrid power system by CSSC SWS, fully equipped with its own intellectual property battery and control systems. These ships will operate on the Xiangjiang River near Orange Isle, providing unforgettable river sightseeing and night tour experiences of Changsha’s iconic landmarks.

Fuchun River, Tonglu, Zhejiang — 31m Sightseeing Vessel
Invested by Tonglu Sanjiang Water Tourism Co., Ltd., and built by Pinghu Huahai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., this 31-meter vessel is powered by CSSC SWS’s S-Renewable pure battery system with a total battery capacity of 1,774.08 kWh.
The ship will sail on the picturesque Fuchun River, allowing tourists to fully immerse themselves in a real-life rendition of the famous Chinese landscape painting Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains.

Xin’an River, Shexian, Huangshan, Anhui — 30m Hybrid Tourist Vessel
Funded by Xin’an River Water Transport Service Co., Ltd., and built by Changzhou Wujin No.2 Shipyard, this 30-meter vessel features two 120kW generator sets and 580.6 kWh battery capacity, equipped with CSSC SWS’s S-Renewable hybrid system.
The vessel will navigate the scenic Xin’an River in Shexian, offering an immersive experience in the rich Hui culture and natural beauty of Huangshan.

Shihe River Scenic Area, Xinyang, Henan — 30-Passenger Pure Electric Vessels (4 units)
Built by Wuxi Dongfang High-Performance Ship & Boat Engineering Co., Ltd., these four 30-passenger electric boats each feature 215 kWh batteries, totaling 860.16 kWh.
They are part of the “Night Cruise on Shihe” enhancement project for the Shihe River Scenic Area, creating a Central China version of the famous Qinhuai River night cruise.

Shaoxing, Zhejiang — 15m Electric Propulsion Tourist Vessel
Funded by Shaoxing Water City Tourism Co., Ltd., and built by Hangzhou Qianhang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., this 15-meter vessel features 354.8 kWh battery capacity, equipped with CSSC SWS’s S-Renewable pure battery system.
The vessel will operate in the Shaoxing moat, adding another vibrant touch to this historic “Eastern Water City.”
