Recently, the 17,999 DWT asphalt carrier equipped with the CSSC SICE S-Shaft shaft generator system successfully completed its sea trials. The vessel is financed by French shipowner Rubis Asphalt Middle East, designed by FKAB Marine Design, and constructed by CMHI Yangzhou Dingheng Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
The successful sea trial marks that the vessel has met its expected standards in terms of performance and reliability, laying a solid foundation for its upcoming commercial operation.

The vessel has an overall length of 149.9 m, a beam of 22.8 m, a depth of 12.1 m, and a design draft of 9.35 m. It is equipped with the SICE S-Shaft through-shaft motor + frequency converter shaft generator solution, delivering a shaft generator output of 630 kW. This system provides the vessel with constant frequency, constant voltage, high-quality, and stable power.
The shaft generator system can operate independently or in parallel with the auxiliary generator sets, achieving energy savings, environmental friendliness, and strong economic efficiency. The complete shaft generator system is integrated and supplied by CSSC SICE, with its design, manufacturing, and testing carried out in full compliance with RINA standards.

In 2025, CSSC SICE achieved a significant leap in its overseas market performance, with order value successfully surpassing RMB 300 million. Major projects include:
SPEC SPP40 PSV electric propulsion systems (4 vessels)
YINSON transport vessels with full battery-powered propulsion systems (3 vessels)
Weili Group 325,000 DWT VLOC vessels equipped with 1,200 kW shaft generator systems (2 vessels)
CMA CGM 18,000 TEU container vessels fitted with 4,150 kW shaft generator hybrid power systems (12 vessels). This project marks the first application of a ship battery hybrid power system on the main ocean-going routes of an international mainstream shipowner.
The CSSC SICE “Battery+” hybrid power system not only significantly enhances the vessel’s environmental performance, but also greatly improves safety and economic efficiency, bringing revolutionary progress to the global shipping industry.

Empowering global green shipping with reliable power systems, CSSC SICE has earned strong recognition and trust from overseas shipowners through its outstanding technical capabilities. At the same time, it has enabled “Made in China” to win broad global confidence with its exceptional quality, service, and technology.
