[New Order +1, Dozens in Total] CSSC SAYS-Y intensifies its efforts in the PSV platform supply vessel market, taking the lead in the offshore oil and gas segment!

Funded by Zhejiang Guohong Shipping Co., Ltd., designed by Zhoushan Wanda Ship Design Co., Ltd., and built by Zhoushan Qifan Shipbuilding & Repair Co., Ltd., the 85-meter PSV (Platform Supply Vessel) Power System Project has officially commenced. As the offshore oil and gas market, which had been quiet for years, gradually recovers, CSSC SAYS-Y is seeing multiple intended orders about to be finalized. The shipowner, Zhejiang Guohong Shipping Co., Ltd., is a professional maritime enterprise based in Zhoushan, Zhejiang. With over 20 years of deep involvement in water transportation, comprehensive qualifications, and a diversified business structure, the company holds a solid position in both domestic and cross-border shipping markets. Its operations cover several routes, including China, South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

The 85m PSV has a length of 85.00 meters, beam of 18.40 meters, depth of 7.80 meters, and design draft of 6.40 meters, and will be classified by CCS (China Classification Society). The vessel’s power system features CSSC SAYS-Y’s S-DE diesel-electric propulsion system, based on DC grid technology, equipped with four 1600kW and one 800kW generator sets. These generator sets are connected via centralized DC bus frequency-conversion control equipment to drive two 1800kW main propulsion motors and two 880kW thruster motors, meeting DP-2 dynamic positioning requirements. Additionally, the vessel has reserved interfaces and containerized installation spaces for batteries, enabling a smoother transition to green energy in the future. Compared with other grid configurations, SAYS-Y’s DC grid technology offers stronger battery compatibility, which, once integrated, will deliver significant benefits in peak shaving, energy savings, emission reduction, and environmental protection. It is also reported that the vessel’s firefighting capabilities comply with IMO FiFi 2 standards, providing high-efficiency emergency firefighting and protection performance.

At present, CSSC SAYS-Y is intensively expanding its presence in the PSV (Platform Supply Vessel) market, with dozens of vessels already in practical operation and both domestic and international orders under its belt. The company has creatively introduced the hybrid “S-DE + Battery” technology route, achieving superior dynamic response and remarkable energy-saving performance — marking a major breakthrough in the market.

Starting with the Singapore SPEC SPP40 PSV fleet project (S-DE + containerized battery system, 8 vessels), CSSC SAYS-Y successfully ended years of stagnation in the offshore oil and gas market. This momentum continued with multiple projects, including:

  • Lianyungang Wuzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry 92m PSV (S-DE + reserved battery interface),

  • Jiaxin Marine 85m PSV (S-DE + reserved battery interface), and

  • Malaysia Keyfield Offshore 90m PSV photovoltaic energy storage system (2 vessels).

Through these domestic and overseas PSV projects, CSSC SAYS-Y has gradually established a core technological advantage in the offshore oil and gas sector, leading the power system upgrade trend in this niche market and injecting new SAYS-Y power into the revival of offshore oil and gas vessel development.
