On October 23, Singapore-based shipowner Yinson GreenTech (YGT) officially took delivery of the first vessel of its next-generation Hydromover 2.0 series.
Built as an upgraded iteration of YGT’s fully electric Hydromover cargo vessel, the Hydromover 2.0 offers three times the original cruising range, enabling coverage of all anchorages within the Port of Singapore.
It also features faster charging capabilities and a larger cargo capacity, setting a new benchmark for zero-emission cargo transportation in global ports.

The Hydromover 2.0 was funded by Singapore-based shipowner Yinson GreenTech (YGT) and constructed by Marinteknik Shipyard in Singapore. The vessel is equipped with two lithium battery packs, providing a total capacity of 914.536 kWh, and features a China-based CSSC SAISEI (中船赛思亿) DC power distribution system.
This advanced DC system delivers a stable and reliable power supply, ensuring the Hydromover 2.0’s successful performance upgrade.Notably, CSSC SAISEI’s core variable-frequency electric control system, S-Drive, obtained the Bureau Veritas (BV) Cyber Security Conformity Certificate in 2025.The system meets top international maritime standards in cyberattack defense, electromagnetic interference resistance, and data confidentiality, providing robust protection for the Hydromover 2.0’s intelligent and secure operation.
The delivery of the Hydromover 2.0 marks a key milestone in YGT’s fleet electrification strategy and an important step for CSSC SAISEI in expanding its presence in the global fully electric vessel market.
At present, CSSC SAISEI, together with Seapex, has signed a contract with YGT for five additional sister vessels, jointly advancing a smarter, cleaner, and more connected maritime future.
